This baby whale emerged from the depths, where it's mother was resting. It swam right up to me to have an encounter. The water was murky after weeks of storm. The murkiness made for beautiful light ray bursts in the water. Encountering this whale was a magical moment in the Silver Bank whale sanctuary, off the coast of the Dominican Republic.
I peered into the depths,
Into the indigo of the sea,
Into the murkiness
After the storm.
And you, my whale,
Emerged to meet me.
About Louise Lindsay
Louise Lindsay is a photographer, living in the Florida Keys, and spending some time in the mountains of North Carolina. She practices mindful photography, sometimes known as contemplative photography. Mindful photography involves the practice of being as fully present as possible in the moment of creating an image. The subjects range from landscapes, seascapes, street photography, macro and flower photography, to nature photography, to almost anything.
