While walking around Key West practicing mindful photography, I came upon a yellow mustang covered in fallen yellow Frangipani flowers early in the morning. What an amazing gift of the moment. It was shortly after sunrise, and I had been focused on the beautiful front porches on the old houses of Key West. If you simply look around, gifts seem to arrive. I loved the play here of shadows, lines, and heart-shaped curves. Because this is all monochromatic, it will also look lovely in black and white. But the yellow was such a part of my early morning experience that I have let this version dance with the yellows.
Louise Lindsay is a photographer, living in the Florida Keys, and spending some time in the mountains of North Carolina. She practices mindful photography, sometimes known as contemplative photography. Mindful photography involves the practice of being as fully present as possible in the moment of creating an image. The subjects range from landscapes, seascapes, street photography, macro and flower photography, to nature photography, to almost anything. Louise focuses on the encounter within the moment of creating the image, both her encounter with the "subject" of the image, and the eventual encounter a viewer has with the image.
