My gift of the moment. This feather floated right by my kayak, resting on very still water. I was following a mindful photography exercise, which included paddling 100 strokes, pausing, and seeing what I noticed when I settled into the moment, and random place.

Louise Lindsay is a photographer, living in the Florida Keys, and spending some time in the mountains of North Carolina. She practices mindful photography, sometimes known as contemplative photography. Mindful photography involves the practice of being as fully present as possible in the moment of creating an image.
