As I was strolling with my family through Rock Fork State Park in Tennessee, this scene emerged. There was lovely soft light on the water and on the leaves of the trees, around a turn in the bend. It was late afternoon, and so most of the path was in shade.

I decided to create this image using intentional camera motion. By using a longer shutter speed, and slightly moving the camera as I push the shutter button, I intentionally create this kind of painterly movement. Photographers think of this as painting with light.

If you print on paper, please spring for one of the premium papers, especially Cool Tone Picture Rag or Somerset Velvet, as the prints are much richer on better paper.
